So, who is exempt from paying the TV Licence fee? 🤔
With the new scheme (as of 2020) if you are 75 years or older your TV Licence will be paid for by the BBC. You can also apply if your receive Pension Credit (which will need to be in your name, or your partner’s name if you’re a couple).
If you’re moving home (or changing address) you need to update the address on your TV Licence. You can update your address on your TV licence at no cost on our online home setup form.
So, in 2022 how much does a TV Licence cost? It has been confirmed that the annual fee is £154.50. This is an increase from £150.50 the year previous.
It may not seem expensive, but if you’re not using it and are eligible to cancel it you should do so. £150 certainly adds up over the course of the year.
