How to redirect your mail
You can use Royal Mail redirection for 3, 6 or 12 months as a paid service. Instead of a redirection, you can also use SlothMove to update your addresses directly with your providers.
Instead of redirecting your mail, SlothMove will update your address with your chosen services directly so your mail goes to the right place. You may also wish to have a redirection as well, and you can select that in SlothMove’s journey.
Previously, you would either need to pay a monthly redirection fee or spend over 7 hours on the phone telling everyone you’ve moved.
SlothMove is a moving home platform in which you can tell all of your chosen services (such as Council, Water, HMRC etc…) that you’re moving home. There, you can cover everything related to your home move such as getting there, reducing the cost of your energy and more.
Can I redirect my mail for free?
Unfortunately, you can’t redirect your mail for free, but you can either pay to redirect your mail or update your address across all providers at the same time.
Here’s how using SlothMove’s home set up service can help:
- Enter your information into SlothMove’s moving home platform below.
- Enter your previous and new address.
- Select who needs to know you’re moving home.
- Click submit and your address will be updated with those companies and institutions.
The advantage of updating your address this way is that your companies will have your new address on their records. You can also close-down and cancel your services.
SlothMove enables you to update your address with your chosen service providers directly so you don’t need to setup a redirection.
Royal Mail Redirection
When moving home you may also wish to set-up a Royal Mail redirection. This is a paid service based on 3, 6 or 12 months. This can be done within the UK, EU or internationally and can be done for both businesses and personal use.
To get your mail redirection set-up you can complete our moving home platform and we’ll help you get it set-up. We can also update your addresses too.
How much does it cost to redirect mail?
If you’re wondering how much it costs to redirect mail you might be pleasantly surprised. When you move home with SlothMove it doesn’t cost anything to redirect your mail. We will update your address with all of your businesses and institutions.
You can also organise a mail redirection with Royal Mail if you would like a paid option. Below is the Royal Mail redirection pricing table for 2023 for UK addresses:
In both cases, we can help get you setup
How to redirect my mail to another address?
With SlothMove’s new moving home technology you don’t need to redirect you mail for free because you can update your address with those companies directly. You can update your address across your accounts. Here’s how it works:
- Head over to SlothMove’s moving home platform
- Enter your info such as previous and new address
- Select who you’d like to tell that you’re moving home
- Click submit – and that’s you all done
- SlothMove will update your addresses and let you know about any next steps
And it’s that simple. It’s simple to use and takes just under 5 minutes.
What documents do I need to redirect my mail?
You actually don’t require any documents to redirect your mail. With SlothMove’s online change of address service you just need to provide some key information such as your previous and new address, amongst other things. There is no need to get your passport or any other information if you’re wondering how to redirect mail. You will need:
- Your name, previous address and new address
- Contact information
- Who you’d like to update your address with
- Supporting info if available such as TV Licencing number, meter reads etc…
Setting-up a redirection is worth doing. Some reports suggest that the average person
moves every 23 years. Whilst some move much more frequently than that, given the number of addresses we may have a presence at we should carry our ‘digital self’ with us.
