If you watch or stream programmes live on an online service you will need a TV licence. This includes online platforms such as All 4, Amazon Prime, Now TV, Sky Go etc… You may be wondering, do I need to have a TV licence to watch Netflix? The good news is no. If you only watch subscription services you don’t need a TV licence.
If you watch or download any programmes on BBC’s iPlayer you will also need a TV Licence (as you may have guessed)

The most convenient way to pay for your TV Licence is by DD. You can pay for it in advance, but then you will need to renew your TV Licence each year.
So, how much does a TV licence cost in 2022? Until April of 2021, the cost of a TV Licence is £157.50.
You don’t need to pay anything if you are over 75 or are visually impaired. In either of those cases, the BBC will pay for your TV Licence
