The easiest way to complete this is to use SlothMove’s free online moving home platform.

It could also be the case that you have special circumstances, such as being a student, Landlord, managing agent etc… Here’s how to update your address with Thames Water based on your circumstances.
If you’re a student and are moving home with Thames Water you could either be: moving into Thames Water, moving out of Thames Water or moving within the are of Thames Water. In either case, the easiest way to make sure all of your water companies are updated is to use SlothMove’s moving home platform. SlothMove will update your address across the Water Suppliers (and whoever else you need such as Councils) automatically.
If you are a tenant and your water supply is, or might be Thames Water you may need to update them. As a tenant, if you are not responsible for paying water then you have no need to communicate with Thames Water. However, if you have agreed with your Landlord that you will be responsible for paying the water supply then you should use our Moving Home platform to update them. If you are not responsible for paying water then you have no need to communicate with Thames Water.
It’s important to complete a Thames Water change of address for lots of reasons.
Firstly, if you don’t start a Thames Water moving home process you won’t be able to close down your water account. This may mean that you miss the final bill, or miss your refund. If you have an outstanding balance and aren’t aware and they have no way of contacting you it could result in additional fees.
Secondly, you will need to create an account with your new water supplier to set-up payment plans and the like. The incumbent water supplier may not know who’s moved into your property and when they should start billing you from.
And finally, make sure you take your paper trail with you to avoid mail fraud. Mail going to the wrong address can lead to agents with bad intentions gaining a foothold in their fradulent endeavours.
