Child Benefit change of account details
With HMRC’s Child Benefit Office there are a few reasons as to why you would need to update them on your personal circumstances. If any of the following change, you need to let the Child Benefit Office know:
- You change your name;
- You change your address;
- Your bank details change;
- You move abroad either temporarily or permanently;
- You have a change in marital status, Civil Partnership, or if you’re living with a partner
Latest Child Benefit Updates
As we know, Child Benefits payments occur every 4 weeks and there is no limit to the number of children you can claim for. In 2025, the Child Benefit rates are:
- Your first child: £25.60
- Subsequent children: £16.95
Across the Platinum Jubilee bank holidays, recipients of the benefit received their payments on Friday, 4 days ahead of schedule.
There is nothing wrong, HMRC processed this earlier due to the bank holiday occurrence in June. If you’re moving home this will not affect any refunds due to you from your Child Benefits. This also applies if you’re changing address later in the year when millions will receive one-off payments from the government of £150 and/or £650.
